Our History
Founded in 1985 as Woori Hankul School, our organization began with a simple mission: to preserve and share Korean language and culture. As interest and enrollment grew, the school formally expanded and, in 2007, became a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit under the name Korean Language and Cultural Education Institute (KLCEI).
In 2025, as we proudly celebrated our 40th anniversary, we embraced a new name - Korean School of Greater Hartford - to better reflect our community roots and the families we serve.
Today, our Korean language classes welcomes students from across Connecticut and Massachusetts, continuing to grow alongside the greater Hartford community while fostering Korean language, cultural education and lifelong connections.
